EPA has completed its final risk evaluation for 1,2-dichloroethane (ethylene dichloride, CASRN 107-06-2) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The evaluation determined that the chemical presents an unreasonable risk of injury to human health, driven by worker exposure under 15 conditions of use. No unreasonable risk was found for consumers, the general population, or the environment. EPA will now initiate risk management rulemaking under TSCA section 6(a) to address the identified worker risks.12
