Great Basin Gas Transmission Company; Notice of Availability of the Environmental Assessment for the Proposed 2026 Great Basin Expansion Project

FERC staff has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the 2026 Great Basin Expansion Project (Docket No. CP25-209-000), proposed by Great Basin Gas Transmission Company. The project would construct approximately 4.7 miles of upsized or looped natural gas pipeline in two segments across Lyon and Washoe Counties, Nevada, providing 8,129 dekatherms per day of incremental firm transportation capacity. The EA concludes the project would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment. The Bureau of Land Management is a cooperating agency. Public comments are due by December 26, 2025.

Great Basin Gas Transmission Company; Notice of Schedule for the Preparation of an Environmental Assessment for the 2026 Great Basin Expansion

FERC is preparing an Environmental Assessment for the 2026 Great Basin Expansion, proposed by Great Basin Gas Transmission Company under Docket No. CP25-209-000. The project would install approximately 2.3 miles of new 20-inch pipeline loop in Washoe County and replace approximately 2.4 miles of existing 10-inch pipeline with 20-inch pipe in Lyon County, Nevada, increasing firm transportation capacity by 8,129 Dth/d. The Bureau of Land Management is a cooperating agency. The EA is scheduled for issuance on November 25, 2025, with a 30-day comment period following. Primary scoping issues include wildlife, special species, survey protocols, and Class III cultural resource inventories.
