Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, LLC; Notice of Availability of the Environmental Assessment for the Proposed 507G Line Abandonment Project

FERC staff prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the 507G Line Abandonment Project, proposed by Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, LLC under docket CP24-529-000. Tennessee seeks authorization to abandon in place approximately 58.0 miles and remove approximately 17.3 miles of its 16-inch-diameter 507G-100 Line, plus abandon in place about 7.9 miles and remove about 1.1 miles of the 12-inch-diameter 507G-500 supply lateral, all in Acadia, Vermilion, Iberia, and St. Mary Parishes, Louisiana. FERC staff concluded the project would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. Comments are due June 2, 2025.

FERC is preparing an Environmental Assessment for Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C.'s 507G Line Abandonment Project (Docket No. CP24-529-000), which proposes to abandon in-place approximately 59.6 miles and remove 15.8 miles of the 16-inch-diameter 507G-100 Line, plus abandon in-place 7.9 miles and remove 1.1 miles of the 12-inch-diameter 507G-500 supply lateral, along with appurtenant facilities at multiple locations in Louisiana. The EA is scheduled for issuance on April 25, 2025, with a 30-day comment period and a federal authorization decision deadline of July 24, 2025. Scoping comments raised concerns about burial depth, waterway exposures, and landowner preferences for removal over in-place abandonment.
