The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announces receipt of an ESA section 10(a)(1)(B) incidental take permit application from Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. for construction and operation of a 2-acre industrial facility in Polk County, Florida. The project would convert approximately 2 acres of occupied habitat for the federally threatened sand skink and blue-tailed mole skink. The Service preliminarily determined the permit qualifies as low effect and may be eligible for a categorical exclusion under NEPA. Mitigation requires purchase of 4 acres of conservation bank credits before any construction begins. Public comments are due July 24, 2024.
