The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the termination of Special Nuclear Material License SNM-7003 held by American Centrifuge Operating, LLC (a subsidiary of Centrus Energy Corp.) for the American Centrifuge Lead Cascade Facility in Piketon, Ohio. The facility, which operated up to 240 uranium enrichment centrifuges between 2006 and 2016, was fully decommissioned in 2017 and 2018. The NRC found no significant environmental impacts from the administrative act of terminating the license, as no radioactive material remains on site under SNM-7003 and the facility has been released for unrestricted use. The license termination does not affect ACO's separate SNM-2011 license for the ongoing HALEU program at the same site.12
