The NRC issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a proposed amendment to Special Nuclear Material License No. SNM-2011 held by American Centrifuge Operating, LLC (ACO) at the American Centrifuge Plant in Pike County, Ohio. The amendment increases ACO's licensed possession limits for high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) in the form of uranium hexafluoride from 600 kg to approximately 1,400 kg, supporting a DOE contract running through December 31, 2024. The NRC evaluated impacts on land use, air quality, water resources, public health, and other resource areas and concluded no significant radiological or non-radiological impacts would result. An EIS is not required.12
