The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) and a revised processing schedule for the relicensing of Idaho Power Company's 67.5-megawatt American Falls Hydroelectric Project (FERC No. 2736) on the Snake River in Power County, Idaho. Idaho Power filed its major license application on February 14, 2023. FERC staff determined that a single EA, rather than a draft and final EA, is appropriate, and does not anticipate the project constitutes a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment. The EA is targeted for January 2025, with comments due February 2025.12
