FERC has issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Alaska Electric Light & Power Company's application to replace the upper Salmon Creek penstock and associated creek bridges at the Annex Creek and Salmon Creek Hydroelectric Project (No. 2307) in the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska, on Tongass National Forest lands. The over-100-year-old penstock runs from the valvehouse to the abandoned upper powerhouse and must be replaced with modern welded steel pipe to ensure safe and reliable project operation. The EA is targeted for completion by October 2024.
