FERC staff has prepared an environmental assessment (EA) for the Appalachian Reliability Project, proposed by Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, Inc. (EGTS) under Docket No. CP25-528-000. EGTS seeks authorization to construct 3.9 miles of 30-inch-diameter natural gas transmission pipeline, add compression at two existing compressor stations, build one new metering and regulation station, and modify two existing metering and regulation stations in Armstrong, Greene, and Westmoreland Counties, Pennsylvania, and Monroe County, Ohio. The project would provide approximately 550,000 dekatherms per day of firm natural gas transportation. The EA concludes that approval would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. Comments are due March 30, 2026.12
