The Federal Transit Administration (FTA), as lead federal agency, and the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), as joint lead agency, have issued a Notice of Intent to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for the Baltimore Red Line Project, a proposed approximately 14-mile high-frequency transit line connecting Woodlawn and Bayview through downtown Baltimore, Maryland. The SEIS is required because the project was cancelled in 2015, restarted in June 2023, and may involve new or changed significant impacts not evaluated in the 2013 Final EIS. The SEIS will reassess tunneling options and changes to the eastern alignment.
