FERC has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Pacific Gas and Electric Company's application to amend the license for the Battle Creek Hydroelectric Project (No. 1121) to support Phase 2 of the Battle Creek Salmon and Steelhead Restoration Project. The amendment requires removal of four diversion dams on Battle Creek and its tributaries in Shasta and Tehama counties, California, but omits the tailrace connector tunnel from South Powerhouse to Inskip Canal that was part of the original restoration plan. The EA concludes the amendment, with appropriate protective measures, would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment. Comments are due May 5, 2025.12
