The Bureau of Land Management Nevada State Office has released a Draft Resource Management Plan Amendment and Environmental Impact Statement for the Bonanza Solar Project, a proposed 300-megawatt solar photovoltaic facility on approximately 5,131 acres of public lands in Clark County, Nevada, with a gen-tie transmission line extending into Nye County. The applicant, Bonanza Solar, LLC, submitted a right-of-way application in December 2020. The EIS analyzes five alternatives; BLM identifies Alternative 2 as preferred because it balances solar energy development with Mojave desert tortoise habitat connectivity. A 90-day public comment period is now open, with a Final EIS expected in April 2025 and a Record of Decision in August 2025.12
