The Bureau of Land Management Andrews Field Office, Burns District, Oregon announces availability of the Draft EIS for the Bridge Creek Area Allotment Management Plans, covering approximately 39,062 acres across four allotments (Hammond, Mud Creek, Hardie Summer, and Hammond FFR) located about 60 miles south of Burns near Frenchglen, partially within the Steens Mountain Cooperative Management and Protection Area. There is currently no grazing authorization on these allotments. The EIS analyzes five alternatives ranging from reissuance of expired permits to full allotment management plans to no action, with a 45-day public comment period running from EPA publication of its Notice of Availability.12
