The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for an exemption request by Constellation Energy Generation, LLC, allowing Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (Calvert County, MD) to maintain nine already-loaded and load six new MPC-37-CBS multi-purpose canisters in the HI-STORM FW dry cask storage system at its ISFSI, despite the CBS variant basket design not meeting Certificate of Compliance No. 1032, Amendment No. 1, Revision No. 1 requirements. NRC found no significant radiological or non-radiological environmental impacts compared to prior assessments, and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources concurred.
