FERC has announced its schedule to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Algonquin Gas Transmission's Cape Cod Canal Pipeline Relocation Project in Bourne, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Algonquin filed its application on September 29, 2025, seeking a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to construct approximately 3.0 miles of 16-inch and 2.2 miles of 18-inch replacement pipelines, relocate existing pipelines near the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges, abandon roughly 3.5 miles of existing pipe, and replace two meter and regulating stations. The project is driven by the Cape Cod Bridges Program's planned bridge replacement. The EA is scheduled for issuance on April 17, 2026, with a 30-day comment period, and a federal authorization decision deadline of July 16, 2026. Cooperating agencies are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, EPA, and the Massachusetts Army National Guard.1
