FERC has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Capital Area Project, proposed by Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, Inc. (EGTS) under Docket No. CP25-29-000. The project would add compressor units at three existing stations in Centre, Franklin, and Clinton Counties, Pennsylvania, and Loudoun County, Virginia, plus facility modifications at a fourth station, to provide 67,500 dekatherms per day of firm natural gas transportation service for Washington Gas Light Company serving Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. FERC staff concludes approval would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. Comments are due by September 8, 2025.12
