The Bureau of Land Management announces the availability of the Record of Decision and Approved Resource Management Plan for the Central Yukon planning area of Alaska. The State Director signed the ROD on November 12, 2024, making the Approved RMP effective immediately. The planning area covers about 55.7 million acres in central and northern Alaska, of which approximately 13.3 million acres are BLM-administered public lands. The Approved RMP (Alternative E) replaces three prior planning documents, designates 21 Areas of Critical Environmental Concern covering roughly 3.6 million acres, and will guide management of subsistence resources, mineral exploration, and recreation for the next 15 to 20 years.12
