The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service published a Notice of Availability for the draft Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) and associated Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Charles M. Russell Wetland Management District in central and southcentral Montana. The District encompasses four national wildlife refuges, six waterfowl production areas, and five conservation easements across Petroleum, Musselshell, Golden Valley, Yellowstone, and Stillwater counties. The draft CCP sets the long-term management vision for wetland, grassland, and woodland habitats benefiting waterfowl, wading birds, and shorebirds along the Central and Pacific flyways. Public comments are due by February 13, 2025.12
