NMFS is considering renewal of an Endangered Species Act incidental take permit for Virginia Electric and Power Company (Dominion Virginia Power) covering operations at the Chesterfield Power Station, a gas-fueled facility on the upper tidal James River in Chesterfield, Virginia. The proposed 10-year permit would authorize incidental take of up to 109,490 Atlantic sturgeon larvae and up to 183,630 non-viable sturgeon eggs from the Chesapeake Bay Distinct Population Segment. NMFS prepared a draft Supplemental Information Report evaluating whether a supplement to the 2020 Environmental Assessment is required, and concluded no significant new circumstances warranted one. Dominion's Conservation Plan proposes monitoring through dive inspections and entrainment sampling, plus three ongoing research studies to minimize and mitigate impacts to the extent practicable.1
