The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued the final plant-specific Supplement 60 to NUREG-1437, the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, covering the subsequent license renewal of Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2 in Somervell County, Texas. The applicant, Vistra Operations Company LLC (Luminant), seeks renewal of operating licenses NPF-87 and NPF-89 for an additional 20 years. NRC staff concluded that the adverse environmental impacts are not so great that preserving the license renewal option for energy-planning decisionmakers would be unreasonable.
