FERC staff issued this Notice of Intent to prepare an EIS for the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage 4 Project and the CCPL Expansion Project, published May 5, 2026. The applicants, Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage IV, LLC, Corpus Christi Liquefaction, LLC, and Cheniere Corpus Christi Pipeline, L.P., propose to expand the existing CCL Terminal in San Patricio and Nueces Counties, Texas by adding four liquefaction trains, two LNG storage tanks, a new marine berth, and associated infrastructure, while also constructing a 26-mile, 42-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline loop with additional compression facilities. The expansion would raise LNG vessel traffic from 480 to approximately 870 per year and increase gas delivery capacity by about 3.0 billion standard cubic feet per day. Combined construction would disturb roughly 2,893.5 acres and generate 50.9 tons per year of hazardous air pollutant emissions, with additional impacts to wetlands, seagrasses, and waterbodies. The draft EIS is planned for September 2026, with a final EIS expected by March 12, 2027.1
