EPA Region 1 has issued a Notice of Availability for the Draft NPDES New Hampshire Medium Wastewater Treatment Facility General Permit (NHG590000), which establishes effluent limitations, monitoring requirements, and standard conditions for 21 eligible medium wastewater treatment facilities discharging to Class B waters of New Hampshire. The permit replaces existing individual NPDES permits for those facilities. EPA has made preliminary determinations under the ESA regarding potential effects to shortnose and Atlantic sturgeon, sea turtles, North Atlantic right whales, and northern long-eared bats, and will consult with NOAA Fisheries and USFWS. The public comment period closes January 13, 2025.1
