The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is preparing an Environmental Assessment for Pacific Gas and Electric Company's application for a temporary variance from Article 39 of the Drum Spaulding Hydroelectric Project (No. 2310), located on the upper South Yuba and Bear Rivers in Nevada and Placer counties, California. The variance would allow PG&E to reduce minimum flows released from Lower Feeley Lake Dam from a 0.5 cfs target to 0.4 cfs (with an allowable minimum of 0.1 cfs instead of 0.2 cfs) from June 1 through November 30, 2025, to facilitate dam crest restoration work. The EA is expected by April 30, 2025, and the public comment period on the application closes March 10, 2025.12
