The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Northern States Power Company's original license application for the Gile Flowage Storage Reservoir Project (No. 15055), located on the West Fork of the Montreal River in Iron County, Wisconsin. Commission staff determined, based on the record including comments on the Ready for Environmental Analysis notice, that licensing the project does not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. The EA is targeted for issuance by December 23, 2025, and will be circulated for public review before a final licensing decision.12
