The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has received an application from Great Pathfinder Wind LLC to amend an existing 6-year incidental take permit (ITP) for its 66-turbine wind project in Hamilton and Boone Counties, Iowa. The amendment would add authorization for incidental take of the proposed endangered tricolored bat (estimated 15 individuals) to existing coverage for Indiana bat and northern long-eared bat. The Service has preliminarily determined the action qualifies for a categorical exclusion under NEPA. A 30-day public comment period closes July 3, 2024.
