The Surface Transportation Board's Office of Environmental Analysis (OEA) issued a Notice of Availability of the Final Scope of Study for an EIS covering Green Eagle Railroad, LLC's proposed 1.3-mile common carrier rail line in Maverick County, Texas. The line would run from Union Pacific Railroad's Clark's Park Yard to the U.S./Mexico border, crossing the Rio Grande River on a new rail bridge, as part of the broader Puerto Verde Global Trade Bridge (PVGTB) project linking Eagle Pass, Texas, and Piedras Negras, Mexico. The EIS will analyze three alternatives: the Southern Rail Alternative (GER's preferred route), the Northern Rail Alternative, and No Action. The U.S. Coast Guard participates as a cooperating agency.
