The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment for the relicense of the 70.27-megawatt Greenup Hydroelectric Project No. 2614, located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Greenup Locks and Dam on the Ohio River in Scioto County, Ohio and Greenup County, Kentucky. The applicants, City of Hamilton, Ohio and American Municipal Power, Inc., filed the relicense application on February 21, 2024. FERC staff determined that licensing the project is not anticipated to constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment, and the EA is targeted for issuance November 23, 2026.12
