The NRC issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a proposed exemption requested by Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) for the Haddam Neck Plant in East Hampton, Connecticut. The exemption, from 10 CFR 50.82(a)(8)(i)(A) and 10 CFR 50.75(h)(2), would allow CYAPCO to make annual withdrawals from a segregated decommissioning trust account for spent nuclear fuel and Greater than Class C waste management and non-radiological site restoration without prior NRC notification. The NRC found no significant environmental impacts because the action is purely financial and administrative, involving no new construction, no changes to effluents, and no increase in radiation exposure.
