FHWA, with CDOT as joint lead agency, issued this Notice of Intent to prepare an EIS for the I-270 Corridor Improvements Project, covering approximately 6.5 miles of I-270 from I-25 to I-70 in Adams and Denver Counties, Colorado. Eight preliminary alternatives are under consideration, ranging from No Action to configurations adding up to two express lanes. Anticipated impacts include effects on environmental justice communities, air quality, noise, water quality, wetlands, hazardous materials, and right-of-way. The Draft EIS is expected in late 2024 to early 2025, with the Final EIS and ROD targeted for late 2025 to early 2026. Comments on this NOI are due September 19, 2024.1
