GSA's Great Lakes Region 5 issued a Record of Decision on May 30, 2024, selecting Alternative 1 (Full Build) for the International Falls Land Port of Entry Modernization and Expansion Project in International Falls, Minnesota. The selected alternative expands the existing LPOE onto an approximately 20-acre site along the Rainy River shoreline, relocates most port functions from the current facility, acquires land from Packing Corporation of America and Recreational Land Development LLC, and incorporates renewable energy technologies. The ROD concludes a NEPA process that began with a 2011 Final EIS and continued with a Supplemental EIS to address project changes made after that earlier review.
