The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the relicense of the 51.2-megawatt Lake Lynn Hydroelectric Project No. 2459, owned by Lake Lynn Generation, LLC. The project sits on the Cheat River near Morgantown in Monongalia County, West Virginia, and near Point Marion in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. FERC staff concluded the project does not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment, so an EA rather than an EIS will be prepared. The EA is targeted for issuance by September 30, 2025, with a 45-day public comment period to follow.12
