This is a Notice of Intent by the Bureau of Land Management, Moab Field Office, to prepare an EIS for a proposed plan of operations modification by Lisbon Valley Mining Company, LLC (LVMC) at the Lisbon Valley Copper Mine in San Juan County, Utah. The modification would expand open pit mining and heap leach operations and introduce in-situ recovery (ISR) mining, adding approximately 2,391 acres of new surface disturbance across federal, state, and private lands. The mine life would extend approximately 20 years, with final reclamation and post-closure monitoring through ~2066. A 30-day public scoping period closes June 27, 2024.
