The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment for a proposed license amendment to the Loup River Hydroelectric Project No. 1256, operated by Loup River Public Power District on the Loup River in Nance and Platte counties, Nebraska. The amendment would modify minimum flow and operating requirements under Articles 404 and 405 of the existing license. No comments were received on the April 2025 public notice. Commission staff plans to issue the EA by November 17, 2025, followed by a 30-day public comment period.12
