The Bureau of Land Management's Vale District released a Draft EIS for rangeland health management actions across the Louse Canyon Geographic Management Area, a 547,696-acre area spanning seven livestock grazing allotments in Malheur County, Oregon, and Humboldt County, Nevada. The entire project area is designated Greater Sage-grouse habitat, 74 percent of which is Priority Habitat Management Area. The Draft EIS analyzes seven alternatives ranging from no action to a 10-year grazing moratorium, with most action alternatives pairing adjusted animal unit months and grazing seasons with sagebrush and riparian restoration. Comments are due 45 days after the EPA publishes its Notice of Availability.12
