FERC is preparing an Environmental Assessment for the Maysville Project, a proposed natural gas pipeline in Rowan, Fleming, and Mason Counties, Kentucky. Columbia Gulf Transmission, LLC filed the application on November 17, 2025, seeking a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to construct 42 miles of 30-inch-diameter pipeline, a new meter station, and associated facilities to deliver 340,000 Dth/d to East Kentucky Power Cooperative's Hugh L. Spurlock Power Station. The EA is scheduled for issuance on August 11, 2026, with a 30-day comment period, and a federal authorization decision deadline of November 9, 2026. Scoping comments raised concerns about water quality, wildlife, karst features, soil erosion, historic resources, and greenhouse gas emissions.12
