The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) has issued a Record of Decision (ROD) selecting the Jamestown corridor for Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc.'s proposed McClellanville 115 kV transmission line in South Carolina, connecting the existing Jamestown substation to a new Berkeley Electric McClellanville Substation near McClellanville. The project traverses Berkeley, Charleston, and Georgetown Counties, with 13.5 miles crossing Francis Marion National Forest. Cooperating agencies are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Forest Service. The ROD concludes the NEPA process but is not a loan approval; financial and engineering reviews continue.12
