Notice of Availability of a Record of Decision Regarding Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. Financial Assistance

The project traverses Berkeley, Charleston, and Georgetown Counties, with 13.5 miles crossing Francis Marion National Forest. Cooperating agencies are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Forest Service. The ROD concludes the NEPA process but is not a loan approval; financial and engineering reviews continue.

Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc.; Notice of Availability of a Final Environmental Impact Statement

The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) has issued a Notice of Availability for the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the McClellanville 115-kV Transmission Project in South Carolina. The applicant, Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc., proposes to construct a new 23.3-mile, 115-kV transmission line to replace an aging distribution circuit serving roughly 1,000 residents in the McClellanville area. The Final EIS analyzes three alternatives: the Jamestown corridor (Proposed Action), the Jamestown Alternative, and the Charity Alternative. Cooperating agencies are the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A 45-day public comment period follows EPA's notice publication, after which RUS may issue a Record of Decision.
