This Federal Register notice withdraws the November 23, 2016 Notice of Intent to prepare a Draft EIS for modification of the Bayou Lafourche and Lafourche-Jump Waterway navigation channel at Port Fourchon, Louisiana. USACE is withdrawing the NOI because a reduction in project scope, primarily a shallower proposed dredge depth (from -50 ft MLLW to -30/-32 ft MLLW) and a change in disposal approach, reduced anticipated impacts enough to allow the review to proceed as an Environmental Assessment rather than a full EIS. The nonfederal sponsor, the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, had already submitted an EIS and Feasibility Report; a Draft EA was released for public comment in May 2024.12
