FERC is preparing an Environmental Assessment for the Mountain Valley Pipeline Boost Project (Docket No. CP26-14-000), applied for by Mountain Valley Pipeline, LLC on October 23, 2025. The project would add compressor capacity at three existing stations in Wetzel, Braxton, and Fayette Counties, WV, and construct a new compressor station in Montgomery County, VA, to provide approximately 600,000 dekatherms per day of additional natural gas throughput. The EA is scheduled for issuance on August 7, 2026, with a 30-day public comment period. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, is a cooperating agency. Scoping comments raised concerns about groundwater, wildlife, air emissions, noise, pipeline safety, and climate change.12
