FERC has issued a Notice of Availability for the Environmental Assessment (EA) of the MS Hub Capacity Expansion Project (Docket No. CP24-80-000), proposed by Mississippi Hub, LLC. The project would expand the existing MS Hub Storage Facility in Simpson County, Mississippi, by adding three new salt cavern gas storage units (approximately 30.0 Bcf working gas capacity), increasing certificated capacity by 3.87 Bcf in existing caverns, installing new compressor units totaling over 54,000 hp across Simpson and Covington counties, and adding raw water and saltwater disposal wells across three counties. FERC staff concludes the project would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. Comments are due November 29, 2024.1
