The NRC issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a proposed amendment to Special Nuclear Materials License SNM-2010, held by Louisiana Energy Services, LLC (dba Urenco USA), for the National Enrichment Facility in Eunice, New Mexico. The amendment would remove License Condition 14, allowing UUSA to ship depleted uranium hexafluoride to deconversion facilities that produce anhydrous hydrogen fluoride as a byproduct. No such facility currently exists in the United States. The NRC evaluated two alternatives (proposed action and no action), assessed impacts across all standard resource areas, and concluded that no significant environmental impacts would result. A full EIS is not required.12
