Notice of Availability of the Record of Decision for the Robertson Mine Project, Lander County, Nevada

The Bureau of Land Management announces the availability of the Record of Decision for the Robertson Mine Project in Lander County, Nevada. The BLM selected the Partial Backfill Alternative as the preferred and selected alternative. The ROD authorizes the plan of operations under 43 CFR subparts 3715 and 3809, incorporating mitigation measures and Applicant-committed Environmental Protection Measures (ACEPMs). BLM determined the decision will not cause unnecessary or undue degradation of public lands and is consistent with applicable legal requirements.

Notice of Availability of the Final Environmental Impact Statement for Nevada Gold Mines LLC Robertson Mine Project, Lander County, NV

The Bureau of Land Management announces the availability of the Final EIS for the Nevada Gold Mines LLC Robertson Mine Project in Lander County, Nevada. The project would construct, operate, close, and reclaim a new open-pit surface gold mine in the Shoshone Range, approximately 58 miles southeast of Battle Mountain. The plan of operations boundary encompasses 5,990 acres with 4,356 acres of total disturbance. Three alternatives were analyzed, including the proposed action, a Partial Backfill Alternative, and No Action. BLM identified the Partial Backfill Alternative as its preferred alternative, requiring backfill of the Gold Pan Pit to prevent a post-mining pit lake. No decision will be issued for at least 30 days after EPA publishes its Notice of Availability.
