FERC is preparing an Environmental Assessment for the NKY Gate Enhancement Project, proposed by Columbia Gas Transmission, LLC under Docket No. CP26-19-000. The project would abandon 48.54 miles of vintage 1950s-era natural gas transmission pipelines across five Kentucky counties and Hamilton County, Ohio, and replace them with 30.16 miles of new transmission and lateral pipelines. The EA is scheduled for issuance on July 31, 2026, with a 30-day comment period to follow. Scoping comments raised concerns about wildlife, geologic hazards, land use, construction impacts, and route alternatives.12
