The Federal Highway Administration, acting through the Arizona Department of Transportation under a 2024 NEPA assignment MOU, issued this Notice of Intent to prepare a Tier 2 EIS for the North-South Corridor Segment 1, a new approximately 20-mile north-to-south freeway between U.S. Highway 60 and Arizona Farms Road in Pinal County, Arizona. Three preliminary build alternatives (west, center, and east alignments within a 1,500-foot corridor established by the 2021 Tier 1 ROD) plus a No Build Alternative will be evaluated. Resources to be analyzed include cultural and historic resources, biological resources, waters of the United States, farmlands, noise, and air quality. Comments are due June 10, 2025.12
