The California State Director signed the ROD on September 18, 2024, making the Approved RMP effective immediately. The plan covers approximately 382,200 acres of public land and 295,100 subsurface acres of federal mineral estate across eight counties in northern California, replacing the 1992 Arcata RMP and 1993 Redding RMP. It balances resource use, conservation, and ecological integrity, and incorporates tribal lands and interests of 31 federally recognized Native American Tribes within the planning area.
