FERC has issued a final Environmental Assessment (EA) for Dominion Energy South Carolina, Inc.'s request to extend the seasonal turbine venting period at the Parr Hydroelectric Project (No. 1894) on the Broad River in Newberry and Fairfield counties, South Carolina. The licensee seeks Commission approval to extend turbine venting, normally required between June 15 and August 31 to raise dissolved oxygen levels downstream of Parr Shoals Dam, through October 31, 2025. FERC staff concluded that the proposed variance, with appropriate environmental protective measures, would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment.12
