National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) as cooperating agency, has published a notice of receipt of an Incidental Take Permit (ITP) application and Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) from Pierce County Planning and Public Works, Washington. Pierce County seeks 30-year ITPs covering seven anadromous fish and lamprey species for incidental take arising from maintenance and operations of flood risk reduction structures along the Puyallup, White, and Nisqually Rivers. NMFS prepared a draft Environmental Assessment under NEPA analyzing the effects of issuing the permits. The public comment period closes August 22, 2025.12
