The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is amending its April 2017 Record of Decision for the 2016 CLWR Final Supplemental EIS to shift from Alternative 6 (up to 5,000 TPBARs every 18 months at both Watts Bar Nuclear Plant and Sequoyah sites) to Alternative 4 (up to 5,000 TPBARs every 18 months at Watts Bar Units 1 and 2 only), reflecting NRC license amendments approved in April 2024 authorizing 2,496 TPBARs per unit. TVA concluded no additional NEPA analysis is required, as no new significant circumstances or information substantially change the 2016 SEIS analysis, and radiation exposures remain well below regulatory limits under the selected alternative.
