The NRC issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for exemptions requested by PSEG Nuclear, LLC on May 28, 2024, covering Hope Creek Generating Station and Salem Generating Station (both in Hancocks Bridge, NJ) and Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (Delta, PA). The exemptions allow PSEG to periodically transfer excess earnings from its nuclear decommissioning trust funds into non-50.75 subaccounts within those trusts, without prior NRC notification, to pay for spent fuel management, major radioactive component disposal, and site restoration. The NRC found the action financial in nature with no radiological or non-radiological environmental impacts, and determined no EIS is required.12
