The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the relicense of the 12.5-megawatt Reusens Hydroelectric Project (No. 2376), located on the James River in Bedford and Amherst Counties, Virginia. The applicant, Eagle Creek Reusens Hydro, LLC, filed the relicense application on February 28, 2022. Commission staff concluded the project does not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment, warranting an EA rather than a full EIS. The EA is targeted for issuance on July 23, 2026, and will carry a 30-day public comment period.12
