FERC staff has issued a final EIS for the Ridgeline Expansion Project, proposed by East Tennessee Natural Gas, LLC. The project would construct and operate 122.2 miles of 30-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline and associated facilities across eight counties in Tennessee, along with a new 14,600-horsepower electric-driven compressor station and a solar array. Its purpose is to deliver approximately 300,000 dekatherms per day of firm natural gas transportation capacity to Tennessee Valley Authority's Kingston Fossil Plant. FERC staff concludes that, with mitigation, adverse effects would be reduced to less-than-significant levels. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, EPA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and National Park Service participated as cooperating agencies.12
